Mental Health Wellness Among ACB Communities in Alberta

The ACB Wellness Project addresses the unique mental health challenges faced by African, Caribbean, and Black (ACB) communities in Alberta. Research highlights that ACB individuals often struggle with recognizing mental health symptoms, accessing support, and overcoming stigma. The project is a partnership between NorQuest College and Ribbon Rouge Foundation and is funded by the College and Community Social Innovation Fund (CCSIF). The project aims to explore these barriers and implement innovative strategies to enhance mental health awareness, improve system navigation, and increase support for the ACB community. The expected outcomes include better mental health through early intervention, increased understanding of specific challenges, and enhanced support from service providers to help ACB individuals effectively access and navigate mental health services.
